The function involves ensuring that the factory equipment and environment are kept and maintained to a high degree of cleanliness, in accordance with Company and customer codes of practice/procedures.   The role is working within a team structure, closely liaising with production, technical and engineering departments, ensuring those standards are maintained and incorporating improvements where possible or applicable.

Pay Starting from: £12.18 per hour.

 
  • To have a full understanding of the chemicals in use within the hygiene department and recognise their scope of use.
  • To have a full understanding of the COSHH requirements and ensure compliance with the relevant assessments throughout the departments.
  • To have a full understanding of the cleaning systems, schedules and procedures throughout the factory combined with a full understanding of the equipment to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • To be fully familiar with the documentation needs of the department.
  • To be fully familiar with the appropriate health and safety procedures.
  • To have a basic understanding of food microbiology.
  • To have a good working relationship within the department and between departments to create team attitude.
  • To ensure all equipment returned is food and safety compliant.
  • To ensure CAYGO is fully maintained in all areas - at all times.
  • To ensure that the High Risk, Low Risk and Outside areas are maintained to a high degree of cleanliness.
  • To ensure that all waste removed from the factory areas is segregated and sent to its correct destination.
  • To ensure that the correct PPE is worn at all times when carrying out any hygiene work and that the PPE is in suitable condition, requesting replacements if necessary.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role and environment
  • Knowledge of Hygiene standards
  • Basic understanding of food microbiology
