SDUK's brands include the Nation’s favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.

We are looking for a Factory Manager to join the Site Leadership Team at Bute Island Foods, on the Isle of Bute. Bute Island Foods has been producing dairy free products for over 30 years and became part of Saputo Dairy UK in 2021.

The Factory Manager will work on-site on the Isle of Bute full-time, with the option of relocating locally or commuting to the island. The role is responsible for developing and setting the pace to implement business and continuous improvement strategies with considerations towards driving culture, people and process efficiencies. In addition to this, they will oversee the Manufacturing, Engineering, H&S whilst championing Food Safety, Product Quality and Customer Service.

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

  • Supporting and influencing the Senior Leadership Team in the development and implementation of site manufacturing strategy.
  • Acting as a role model for Employee Engagement, driving continuous improvement through personal passion, coaching and mentoring.
  • Maintaining and developing systems to ensure compliance with H&S standards, driving an improving culture of H&S and employee driven dynamic risk assessment management.
  • Developing and maintaining suitable Lead Manufacturing tools.
  • Ensuring all statutory and legal compliance is met on a dayto-day and long term basis.
  • Managing the site’s capital plan and implementing a program of continuous improvement.

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

  • Experienced in manufacturing and/or engineering environments.
  • Experienced in people management and project management.
  • Master Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent.
  • Educated in engineering/manufacturing (preferred but not essential).
  • Experienced in managing a variety of cross functional team members.
