About Deliciously Ella
Deliciously Ella’s mission is to help people eat real food, with more plants, more of the time. We are growing fast and we’re looking for talented, passionate, purpose-led people who share in our mission to help us get there.
Every day, we work to cultivate positive change, sharing delicious, natural, plant-based recipes and food products with the aim of building the world’s leading plant-based platform.  Starting from a recipe website, the business has evolved into a restaurant, a range of plant-based food products, an app, a collection of bestselling recipe books and a growing social media community that sits at the heart of what we do.

We launched our first food products in 2016 and have since launched a wide range of products across different categories. We work with all the major grocers and OOH retailers across the UK. We also have a growing international business in the US and Europe.

Take a look at our website to read more about our story.

We have around 75 team members across three sites.  Our Head Office is based in the heart of central London, on Tottenham Court Road, and this is where our Leadership Team work, alongside our Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing and People teams.   Our restaurant, Plants, is just down the road near Bond Street, and is a celebration of plant-based eating.  Our factory site near Milton Keynes produces some of our best-loved products like our granola, energy balls, caramel cups, nut butter bites and dipped nuts.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a People Manager to look after all aspects of human resources at our Deliciously Ella factory site.  We are growing fast, with a mix of employees and agency staff, and we need someone to support us to bring in the best people, onboard them so they hit the ground running, manage employee relations and support the factory management team to create a positive, high performing culture.   The role will be on site five days a week (we are open to discussion regarding the role being done part-time) and will be a generalist role, getting involved in everything from running our engagement survey to organising regular social events for our staff.
Purpose of the role
  • Keeping all factory staff data up to date in our HRIS, Personio
  • Managing recruitment for both permanent and agency staff, including writing job descriptions, advertising roles, screening and interviewing, and managing relationships with our agencies.
  • Onboarding new employees, including right to work checks (will include occasional 7am starts).
  • Keeping our staff handbook and site policies up to date and ensuring they are available to all employees
  • Reporting on people numbers and cost and highlighting variance vs our labour plan
  • Creating an employee experience that reflects our brand values and helps get the best out of our people.
  • Running our quarterly engagement surveys, analysing results, and driving action plans with the factory leadership team.
  • Coaching and supporting factory leaders to develop their teams and to manage any people issues that arise.
  • Deliver our DE performance management process, working with managers to implement goal setting, mid year and end of year reviews.
  • Management of all employee relations including disciplinaries, grievances and absence management (the factory is not unionised).
  • Organisation of regular social events to create a sense of team spirit and belonging.
  • Ownership of training and development for all staff
  • Offboarding of factory team members, including exit interviews

You’ll be part of both the People team and the Factory team.  The role reports to Fran Newman, People Director, and collaborates closely with Jen Aitchison, Office & People Manager, and the factory leadership team.
