ABOUT THE ROLE: 

Whilst working as part of an integrated team within the packing department, the Tote Room Forklift Driver is responsible for providing day to day assistance and support in respect of all routine and non-routine activities, ensuring company standards are met at all times.

Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Recording stored contents of tote bins on tickets


• Recording bulk movements in and out of the lines using WMS 


• Monitoring the product to ensure that it is not mixed


• Empty chaff skips or dump totes 


• Assisting with the daily training of any new operatives as and when required 


• Assisting in cleaning the department/s to Food Safety Standards 


• Ensuring that where appropriate all company documentation and procedures are followed and executed in the correct manner to company requirements, including company safe isolation, interlock check sheets, start-up check sheets and all cleaning records 


• Identifying and carrying out appropriate daily and weekly cleaning is carried out, ensuring that hygiene, Health and Safety and Food Safety standards are met. This includes end of production clean up e.g. cleaning machines and conveyors and floors 


• Assisting the department by covering for the Lead Driver in their absence.


• Identifying and reporting any faults to the Area Shift Manager and to engineers where necessary. 


• Operating a clean as you go policy, such as gathering and removing waste from the department i.e. cardboard rolls poly etc 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR… 

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working in a food manufacturing environment, who is self-motivated with excellent attention to detail. You will also have a current forklift truck licence with experience of driving the forklift in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?

The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK? 

You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
