At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

You will support c.100 shops and superstores by sorting and ticketing end-of-line and donated textile and fashion stock before dispatching them to our stores while ensuring to maximise their income value towards our life-saving mission. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the team working together to support our shops and stores, drivers, and onsite E-commerce Marketplace team ensuring all stock processing and fulfilment is delivered effectively and efficiently as scheduled.

This is an opportunity to work in your local area for one of the UK’s most trusted brands as part of a collaborative team while handling a variety of pre-loved and both low and high-value fashion and textile items. We can offer you a purpose-driven role with 25 days of annual holiday + public holidays, paid sick leave, and career progression opportunities across the whole organisation.

What will I be doing?

  • Manually sorting, categorising, ticketing, and processing donated and End-of-Line fashion and textile stock to meet our shops’ ongoing requirements.

    • This will require strong brand awareness to appropriately process and price both low and high-value items to generate the best possible income towards Cancer Research UK’s mission.

  • Assisting in maintaining stock levels for supply and informing the regional Distribution Centre (RDC) Supervisor of stock availability.

  • Preparing customer orders for dispatch (this includes lifting and moving stock of different weights and sizes where appropriate).

  • Picking, packing, and sorting sold items with the dispatch department.

  • Meeting daily dispatch targets.

  • Dealing with the stock deliveries into the RDC and dispatching stock to our retail drivers or 3rd parties.

  • Maintaining safe and effective standards of storage and stock movement in the processing area while ensuring health and safety policies are adhered to.

  • Minimising stock loss through accurate selection of fashion and textile stock for the appropriate shop where we will maximise the value of the item and monitor waste items.

  • Monitoring levels of equipment and consumables for the warehouse process (e.g. boxes, hangers, labels, bag drop bags etc) and informing the RDC Supervisor to arrange replenishment.

  • Using brand awareness to understand and ensure the correct stock categories, propositions, and sales value are delivered.

What are you looking for?

  • Warehousing, logistics, or retail stock processing background within fast-paced environments.

  • A good brand awareness with an interest in fashion and/ or textiles (you do not need work experience in this space).

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure ensuring to meet targets and standards.

  • Ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with internal teams.

  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and assess priorities.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks outside of your role to support the team when required.
