Position Summary: The Warehouse Champion is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe storage, distribution, and inventory management of goods. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, coordinating logistics, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
- Ensure accurate and timely shipment of products to customers.
- Coordinate with the FLM to plan and implement warehouse layout and space management.
Staff Supervision:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of warehouse workers
- Support with any site investigation whether that be H&S or HR
Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular physical counts.
- Implement and oversee inventory control procedures to prevent loss and ensure product availability.
- Support with Investigations and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Train staff on safe work instructions, SSOW’s and any other operational practice alongside emergency procedures.
Logistics Coordination:
- Support & Coordinate with site management & transportation providers to ensure timely delivery and pick-up of goods.
- Optimize logistics operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all products received and dispatched meet quality standards within the correct SLA/KPI timelines
- Implement quality control procedures and manage returns and defective products, including PWN’s
- Address and resolve customer complaints regarding warehouse operations in an agreed timely manner
