Warehouse Operative/Leading Hand - Rackheath Distribution Centre - 36 Hours

Job Purpose / Overview:

Warehouse Operations are a vital part of our supply chain, and our Operatives are at the front line of these operations. Working as part of a busy team, the Warehouse Operative / Leading Hand is likely to do a variety of jobs across the warehouse, working primarily within the Goods Out pick/pack operation, whilst additionally having involvement with other warehouse functions such as Goods In, Stock Control, and the weekly replenishment exercise of our Retail Outlets. The role will also require the person to ‘cover’ in the absence of the Shift Supervisor, and step into this role to effectively run the shift operation and manage staff and workload during these periods of absence.

Job Responsibilities:

• Product pick, pack and despatch, ensuring exceptional accuracy and standards


• Product putaway/replenishment and the conducting of stock counts, and assisting with Customer Service and Stock Control enquiries


• Assist other areas in the warehouse as and when required


• Ensure accurate data is entered into the WMS using hand held scanners


• Adhere to all warehousing handling and shipping legislation requirements.


• Maintain standards of Health and Safety, Hygiene and Security.


• Manage the shift operations and staff in the absence of the Shift Supervisor, encompassing all aspects of their daily role


• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous warehouse experience


• Experience leading teams.


• Angling experience / knowledge is desirable but not essential


• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high volumes


• Self-Starter and proactive


• Excellent communication and work ethic.


• Analytical experience and an eye for detail.

This is a shift pattern role working alternating weekly shifts of 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 Monday to Friday* (Friday 06:00-12:00 / 12:00-18:00*).

There will be a requirement to work weekends (rota based) during our peak periods (April through August, and November).
