As a TradeChoice Warehouse Supervisor, you will:
- Ensure stock-related procedures, standards and timeframes are communicated to warehouse operatives and adhered to.
- Monitor the achievement of warehouse KPIs, providing Operatives constructive feedback and recognition.
- Ensure quality assurance and stock management practices are carried out.
- Take accountability for completion of standard or non-standard tasks within own area.
- Plan, monitor and adjust staffing levels according to holidays and task allocation, considering the need for completion of daily warehouse duties in line with timeframes, cost, and quality targets.
- Ensure all stock is stored and handled safely with a damage prevention approach.
- Control hours and overtime by operating to agreed standards of staff utilisation, within budget and in adherence to company policy.
- Demonstrate awareness of cost/benefit as applicable to tasks performed, as well as helping to identify and implement ways to reduce costs/waste or inefficiencies.
- Carry out initial performance or conduct conversations in a timely manner.
- Support return-to-work interviews and absence management procedures when required.
- Effectively process electronic information using relevant software.
- Deliver some on-the-job training and development for Operatives (e.g. induction).
- Make sure there is full PPE compliance in own area.
- Ensure the Warehouse team follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as agreed, and raises any concerns regarding nonconformance.
- Promote safe working practices (including the safe operation of electro-mechanical and handling equipment through operator checks and defect reporting)
- Ensure the safety of physical environment (FLT use, stock placement) for self, staff, and visitors to the warehouse.
- Contribute to a secure, safe, and healthy working environment (e.g. housekeeping/tidiness checks).
Your working pattern:
- Monday to Friday
- 3:30pm to Midnight
- 30-minute break
You:
- Industry knowledge and experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of our competitors, and our group companies (desirable).
- Basic knowledge and understand of general Health & Safety.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution centre.
- Familiarity with goods-in and goods-out, inventory and general logistics.
- Happy to carry out manual handling duties as required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment.
- Flexible attitude toward varying working hours (rotational shifts, or peak sales).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- First Aid Qualification (desirable).
- Valid and current Fork Lift, Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck licence.
