A complex operation delivering high levels of service for a brand market leader, as the successful candidate you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional service to the customer. Reporting to the Stock Supervisor you will play a vital role in maintaining the stock integrity within the warehouse.  With an eye for detail and excellent investigative skills you will ideally have stock control or PI experience and knowledge of WMS.  Teamwork, communication and tenacity are key attributes, whilst the ability to work pro-actively on your own initiative is also vital to the success of our department.

Job Description

Assist Shift Manager in the management of teams in order to motivate teams, ensure all aspects of Health & Safety are monitored, all Company policies and procedures are enforced and adhered to and that all product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard in line with or exceeding KPI’s.

Main Responsibilities as a Warehouse Team Leader:

  • Manage and motivate the shift team in order to ensure that productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded 
  • Manage Goods Inwards area and Loading bays to ensure that receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods so that stock is available to satisfy orders
  • Develop and train all team members so that their contributions to the warehouse can be maximised and succession plan
  • Carry out disciplinary/ grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure
  • Support the Shift  Manager in any ad hoc duties within the Warehouse function
  • Over see the cross docking process
  • Ensure that the work place is clean and tidy at all times
  • Carry out daily shift briefs to their teams and ensure that their teams are kept up to date with all relevant information to enable them to carry out their work.
  • Ensure that all areas of the warehouse comply with the companies Health, Safety and Welfare policies.
  • Monitor and control the work environment to ensure that it is operating to its optimum efficiency.
  • Ensure that the shifts performance is in line with the work load and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ensure that the available resources are utilised to there full potential at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous stock control experience preferably.
  • Confident in analysing and acting on data.
  • Flexibility within the role to cover all areas of the stock department functionality.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of detail.
  • Able to manage own time to achieve daily targets efficiently and effectively.
  • Team player who can also work on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility in approach to work and shift patterns.
  • PC literate in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work at height
