Overview



We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our team in Hams Hall distribution centre in Birmingham.  Reporting to the Warehouse Shift Manager you will manage and lead a team of operational colleagues in a manner that ensures all statutory and company requirements are achieved and maintained in support of the business objectives.


 


We have a number of shifts available rotating through the week and weekend.  


 


These can include:


 


Any 5 from 7


Rotating 06:00 to 14:00 / 14:00 to 22:00


Night Shift

Salary  - £33,280 + Shift Allowance 


 


How will you contribute?


  • Manage a team of operational colleagues in line with company guidelines and making sure operational KPI's are met.

  • Ensure one-to-one communication with the customer is maintained in a timely and professional manner, to ensure that customer priorities are discussed, agreed, and achieved through daily workload planning

  • Support all actions identified to reduce damages & drive down cost

  • Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the working areas. 

  • Ensure that all new team members undergo a full induction and training process. 

  • Identify any training/development requirements for direct reports and actively encourage apprenticeship schemes

  • Manage health and safety across all aspects of site ensuring that the corporate culture is adhered to and everyone is responsible for their own safety and wellbeing in the workplace



What will you bring?


  • Experience in supervisory role in a warehouse environment.

  • Experience of accident and incident investigations.

  • Experience of absence review meetings.

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and MS packages.

  • Working in a KPI driven environment.

  • Motivated self-starter, comfortable working as part of a team and as an individual

  • Passion, drive and ambition to make a career in supply chain

  • Good communicator with good influencing skills who can operate at all levels

  • Excellent Organisational Skills 

  • Ability to Work on own initiative

  • Flexible and supportive of customer contract and Wincanton requirements
