Responsibilities

  • Ensure all m/c tool equipment is maintained to the highest standards through adherence to daily maintenance schedules /checks and also to take due care whilst using machinery.

  • Ensure the Waterjet areas are kept clean and tidy and organized in the most productive manner possible whilst maintaining all 5S requirements.

  • Complete all sales or internal works orders on time, accurately and to the highest possible standards. All hand written detail on operation sheets must be clear, neat and legible.

  • Ensure works orders are marked correctly and accurately – using ink / dot peen equipment.

  • Support the Engineering Team with trialing / monitoring purchased consumables –for tool life / productivity / cost effectiveness.

  • Provide all possible suggestions for improvements that reduce the cost and / or improve efficiency and health and safety.

  • Self inspection of products manufactured / produced to fully meet RTI’s quality system criteria.

  • Be prepared to up-skill ie; Waterjet operation/ pump maintenance, or warehouse duties (The company will provide the relevant on-the-job skills training as deemed appropriate). 


Any other reasonable tasks associated with the job role or within the individual’s competency following cross functional training.



Qualifications










  • Good standard of education with GCSE's or equivalent in both Math’s and English.

  • Flexible in terms of working shifts i.e. currently mornings & afternoons shifts over 5 days, but a night shift may be operated.   

  • Willingness to work overtime as and when required.

  • Good level of physical fitness (lifting / frequent climbing of stepped platforms)   

  • Current Fork lift truck license (counterbalance /reach truck – 1.5 tons + )

  • Trained in overhead crane /sling usage (5 Ton) / vacuum lifting equipment. 


 


 


Desirable



  • Experience of running /setting Flow waterjet cutting or saws machines.

  • Good mechanical engineering background in terms of machine maintenance (pump seal changes etc.)     

  • Experience working within Aerospace, Defense sectors –part traceability etc.

  • Experience of cutting / machining low volume but vey high value quality parts. 

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles i.e.5S, TPM , Visual Management 

  • Computer literate - Microsoft Office, Excel, M/C tool software use (nesting programmes)

  • Experience of working with electronic MRP / DNC systems e.g. Seiki systems
