Description

An opportunity has arisen on site for a Warehouse Team Leader. This is an excellent opportunity to work an established and talented team and be key to the customers success. Reporting to the Warehouse Shift Manager.

The Role

  • Accountable for NDC Warehouse night shift operation.
  • Effectively deploy resource to achieve operational KPI’s (cost, quality, and service).
  • Ensure adherence to site procedures/standards via Team Leader involvement and audit process.
  • Ensure full adherence to all other site procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach to risk management and adherence to site H&S regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels using all types of media (verbal, e-mail etc.).
  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the client and effective resolution of problems.
  • Recruit, training, motivate and mentor Team Leaders to ensure a flexible team able to achieve departmental KPI’s (Succession Planning).
  • Accountable for maintaining hygiene/housekeeping standards (HACCP).
  • Maintain and develop the partnership with the GMB site contacts.
  • Actively involve support functions (i.e., Stocks) in achieving Warehouse targets and goals.
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement and develop an approach to change that enhances operational processes.
  • Develop strong working links with all support functions to help achieve targets and to develop a cross functional joint accountability culture.

  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels across the site.
  • Ability to identify, challenge and resolve unsafe behaviors and/or conditions.
  • Confidence and knowledge to be able to make own decisions.
  • Flexible to respond positively to unplanned events whilst retaining achievement of targets.
  • Ability to proactively plan and deliver objectives within agreed timescales. 
  • Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and the management of change.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership and team building skills which incorporate the site’s core values.
  • Having commitment and motivation for personal and team development to assist the future development of the site.
  • Be financially aware with a desire to improve efficiency, quality, accuracy and therefore reduce the overall cost base at the NDC.
  • Able to manage conflict and tough conversations including complex IR issues. 
  • Able to manage Equality and Diversity issues and creates a culture of respect and “Dignity at Work” for all.
  • Understands team dynamics and composition and applies knowledge to develop high performing teams.
  • Understand key drivers to achieve high levels of employee engagement and uses these to deliver high performance.

  • Must be an effective communicator and able to develop good working relationships across all levels.
