Primary purpose and function of position:

Reporting to the UK Logistics Director, you will be responsible for managing the Logistics Operation.  Based on site at Magor Brewery, you will have responsibility for ensuring that performance standards and Service Level Agreements (SLA) of the warehouse (and any associated 3PL contracts) are sustained. 

Key Tasks: Responsibilities:

  • Logistics representative for site Senior Management Team (SMT)
  • Sustained delivery of all Logistics KPI’s
  • Development of all Front Line Managers (FLMs) ensuring integration into ABInBev culture and values using ABInBev performance management tools
  • Build relationships with key external contacts
  • Provide strong personal leadership and direction at all levels

  • Ensure direct reports are motivated to achieve high standards of performance
  • Prepare and deliver budgets (Capital and Revenue)
  • Taking ownership for Capital projects and ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget
  • Translate strategic goals into practical action plans
  • Manage sustainability of Voyager Plant Optimisation (VPO) throughout Logistics function
  • Develop and monitor clear standards and targets

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Highly numerate with a good level of IT skills
  • Degree Level or equivalent through experience
    • MBA or Logistics related qualification beneficial
  • Aware of latest Supply Chain thinking (Warehousing / Transport / Inventory management)
  • Experience in managing employee relation issues in a unionised environment
  • Experience in managing significant change in complex departments
  • Recognised Logistics qualification (i.e. Certificate of Professional Competence [CPC]) and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Operations Leadership (>2 years)
  • Logistics Development (>2 years)
  • Project Management (>2 years)
  • Good understanding of Logistics operating / development practices
  • Excellent operational awareness – specifically in the discipline of Logistics
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Good broad business knowledge essential
  • Sound understanding of the Business Unit (BU) commercial strategy and customer interface
  • Will seek to develop expert understanding in one of the 3-key areas identified earlier in the Job Description
