Job Description

An automotive engineering company are looking to recruit a Group Logistics and Warehouse Manager to report directly to the Group Plant and Production Director. You'll be responsible for the despatch warehouse and logistics, as well as on-site support services, ensuring that the businesses plans are met in the most efficient and cost appropriate way.

Salary: £
35,000 p.a. - £ 40,000 p.a. Holiday + Pension + Parking

The Role of Logistics and Warehouse Manager:

  • Working hours Mon-Thu 07:30-16:45 & Fri 07:30-12:30
  • Manage the businesses materials, logistics and transport
  • Able to motivate the team and support internal and external customers
  • To identify dispatch locations and ensure accurate MRP inventory
  • To ensure finished stock is located in correct location in a timely manner
  • To ensure the warehouse areas are maintained to excellent housekeeping standards
  • Ensuring materials supply matches production requirements
  • To ensure all stores personal are trained and work in a professional manner
  • Purchasing and store materials to ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Identify, confirm demands via MRP
  • Ensure all incoming material is weighed and booked into stores in correct procedure
  • To process all goods in paperwork and updating PC stock system
  • To book in items from couriers and facilitate to owner
  • Work closely with the planning team to ensure minimum transport costs throughout supplier base
  • To ensure all labelling meets customers expectation per stillage.
  • To manage logistics hauliers in / out in timely manner
  • To ensure slots for transport in / out suitably arrange and executed
  • Have fork Lift Counter Balance and Reach Truck driving licence
  • To take ownership of warehouse area in its entirety
  • To ensure all stock is correctly labelled throughout responsible area

The Person:

  • Must be a visible and active presence on the shop floor
  • Carry out annual appraisals and define personnel objectives
  • Must have previous managerial experience role in a warehousing and logistics within an automotive environment
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing methods and process improvements
  • Fantastic written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills
