Role:Β The Materials Handler will be responsible for managing the movement of materials and goods within our facility and to/from our offsite locations. This role involves operating heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), shunting cabs and trailers, and ensuring the timely and safe transport of materials for service, repair and consumption. Additionally, the Materials Handler will assist with offloading and loading materials, supporting the goods-in department in their day-to-day activities.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

Responsibilities:

  • Operate HGVs to transport materials and goods to and from offsite locations for service and repair.
  • Shunt cabs and trailers within the facility and to offsite locations as required.
  • Safely load and offload materials and goods from offsite locations, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Assist the goods-in department during peak periods by receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming materials and goods.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and goods movements, ensuring inventory levels are updated and discrepancies are reported.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or Equivalent Standard
  • CPC is essential for the role.
  • FLT Licence
  • Previous experience of HGV operations is essential for this roles.
  • Previous experience in materials handling and FLT use would be desirable but not essential
  • Attention to detail
  • A good standard of PC Literacy
  • Proven ability to work well within a team
