We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at our Nicholas & Harris site, in Salisbury, in the role of Warehouse Manager.


Nicholas & Harris is part of the Finsbury Food Group and has over 180 years of heritage in craft baking methods. If you like artisanal, organic and speciality breads, or have special dietary or nutritional preferences, our Salisbury has you covered! 


The Warehouse Manager plays a vital role in our Supply Chain, managing both the inbound and outbound flow of goods. The key targets in this role revolve around providing great customer service, the efficient flow of goods through our site and maintaining an accurate stock file. 


We are a modern employer who offer the opportunity of occasional working from home opportunities. We are a 24/7 business, so flexibility to work occasional weekends and nights is a must.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in leading and managing a large team, in a busy 24/7 warehouse environment, ideally within an FMCG environment. People development is at our core, so experience of leadership, development, and retention is essential. Preferably, you will hold some sort of FLT license however this is not essential.

This is what you’ll actually do!


As a Warehouse Manager, you will oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a wide range of finished goods and raw materials. In order to effectively achieve this, you will require a proactive, collaborative approach to managing an efficient and safe operation. You will also need to be continually looking at how we can improve and move our operation forward.


This is a very fast paced working environment, so you must be able to prioritise workload and react quickly to new challenges, whilst delivering short, medium and long term operational and supply chain efficiency benefits. 


Strong communication skills will be critical to your success with our customers, suppliers and 3rd party service providers.


We pride ourselves on providing a safe working environment for our colleagues and you will be responsible for maintaining these high standards of health & safety, hygiene and security within the warehouse.


You will work within the wider site team at Nicholas & Harris, working closely and cross-functionally, but will report into the group supply chain team.


Ideally this is you!



  • Forklift license holder (Preferable)

  • Effective communication skills

  • Previous experience leading a fast paced warehouse team

  • Able to maintain a flexible approach to day-to-day workload; capable of working under own initiative & direction

  • Self-motivated with ability to work to tight deadlines within a fast-moving environment

  • Attention to detail with a commitment to high standards

  • IT literate. Particularly around MS Excel, Word, M3 preferable

  • Team player with a hands on attitude with people, product and process.
