As a result of recent new contract wins we are now on the look-out for an experienced Operations Manager to join our Warehouse team in Rutland; reporting directly to Head of Warehousing, we are seeking an individual with a passion for logistics, ability to lead by example setting high standards based on the company values of Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Innovative and Trust with the ability to quickly build and maintain healthy relationships (internal and external) whilst adding relevant industry experience and knowledge to our team.
The successful candidate will oversee the management of our shared user warehouse facility (12,500 racked locations) ensuring the effective delivery of exceptional levels of service provision and have regular contact and interaction with the customer base. As part of a family owned and operated business this is a hands-on position requiring someone with a broad skill set and a willingness to go the extra mile as and when needed.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all Health & Safety standards through the operation and immediate areas of influence are maintained and adhered to at all times.
- Ongoing compliance to BRCGS and ISO accreditations.
- Lead the warehouse management teams; inspiring, engaging, directing, motivating and encouraging to enable them to perform at a high level, as well as ensuring that company HR policies are followed and upheld.
- Line management of 2 Warehouse Managers ensuring accountabilities and responsibilities are achieved
- Ensure that financial targets are achieved through operational planning and efficient use of resources across all customers and warehouses.
- Ensure all contractually agreed customer service levels, and lead times are achieved
- Complete regular operational reviews with customers
- Be the escalation point for complaints or issues through the warehouse management teams, effectively managing the process to resolution.
- Ensure that all warehouse tasks are documented and are enforce all operational standards, including BRCGS and ISO, and SOP’s
- Provision of timely operating data to the Administration Manager and Systems and Invoicing Supervisor, and to customers to enable completion of internal reports, agency timesheets, customer reports and KPI’s.
- Work collaboratively and pro-actively with all key stakeholders within the business, including the commercial team, transport, and other warehouse teams to both ensure high levels of ongoing communication and to identify and implement new initiatives to enhance overall customer service and business efficiencies.
- Pro-actively seek continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives for all warehouse systems and procedures and devise ways to streamline systems, processes, and policies and implement.
- Support the recruitment/interview potential new starters (including agency staff) and induct and integrate them to ensure low attrition levels. Ensure all new starters are fully trained, have regular weekly check ins and initiate a good start to the business from the offset.
