Warehouse Operative
Blakelands
Temporary, on-going
Available shifts and pay rate:
- 06:00 – 14:00 £12.32 per hour
- 14:00 – 22:00 £14.61 per hour
- 22:00 – 06:00 £15.56 per hour
- Rotating Shift £14.04 per hour
Overtime is paid at £17.63
All shifts require working any 5 out of 7 days in the week

So what will I be doing, for who, and where?
ACS Staffing Solutions are proud to partner with John Lewis, the nation’s most prestigious retailer, in expanding their Warehouse Operative team at their Blakelands site.
As a Warehouse Operative, you will be required to work within a variety of areas such as picking, packing, and operating MHE.
Key duties
- Moving stock from a cage to your packing station
- Printing off delivery labels and delivery notes
- Packing stock in a professional manner, ensuring the delivery note is included within the parcel, and labels are attached to the outside
- Placing parcels on a conveyor belt
- Reading packing instructions from a PC
- Using a handheld scanner
- Maintaining a clean and organised pack bench
- Moving parcels from the conveyor belt to designated courier.
- Wrapping pallets ready for dispatch
- Operating a LLOP to pick stock within racking.
- Using an RF gun (ability to read English is desirable)
- Loading cages onto the LLOP
- Cutting boxes during your pick to ensure a clean environment.
- Sorting parcels as per expectations

Do I need experience as a Warehouse Operative?
None really to be honest…our job is to train you. No experience is needed apart from a dedication to learn. Pretty simple really!
However, in terms of skills, never a bad thing, if you do have experience of any of the below it’s always a bonus!
