We are currently looking for a highly motivated Warehouse Operative to join our Global Logistics team in York, UK. The successful candidate should have an excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills with a flexible 'can do' attitude.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Flexibility to work in all areas within the logistics department
  • Goods Receipt
    • Manage inbound deliveries, including booking in and putting away
    • Unload Vehicles
    • Monitoring and analyzing supplier conformance and compliance
  • Shipping
    • Picking materials as per picking list
    • Packing and booking of goods as per packing individual instruction.
    • Handover of goods to freight forwarders and coordination in a timely manner
  • Warehouse
    • Adherence to FIFO.
    • Initiation and coordination of external warehousing and logistical transfers 
    • Carrying out inventory-related tasks, support for inventory controls
    • Coordination of material flow to, from and within production (line feeding)
    • Adherence to Company Quality and Health & Safety procedures

Other tasks and responsibilities

  • Use of SAP, WM (Warehouse Management) and MDE (Mobile Data Entry) scanner
  • Use of Flexi Narrow Aisle Truck after completion of required training
  • Ensure accurate material transaction/tracking processing within SAP to support departmental and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Responsible for ensuring all work-related tasks are performed in a manner that is compliant with all Health and Safety rules and regulations
  • Evaluating, reporting and escalating problems to Reverse Logistics Manager
  • Any other duties as assigned

  • Possess a current forklift truck license – desirable
  • Excellent IT skills essential
  • Able to work flexibly and to strict timelines to meet deadlines and targets

  • Excellent communication skills

Scope of employment

  • Fulltime / Permanent
  • DBS check will be required (ADVA to arrange)
  • Role involves some manual handling
