Responsibilities






Technician – Rigging

 

Responsible to:                  Operations Director

 

Reporting directly to:        Operations Rigging Manager

 

Main purpose of the job: Working as part of the Rigging Team, the primary role of the Rigging Technician is to assist the Rigging Manager in the preparation of rigging equipment and metalwork through the department, to the Company’s standards and within the deadlines set. 


Summary of principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Work as part of a team in the preparation, cleaning, verification, testing and returning of rigging equipment and hardware.
  • Check equipment in as directed by the Rigging Manager, ensuring stock is accurately reconciled on the WINHITS database.
  • Assist in the specific show preparation of equipment orders.
  • Ensure an acceptable working pace is maintained in the department.
  • Identify common faults within the prep process and report to the Rigging Manager.
  •  Update stock orders through the WINHITS database.
  • Inform the Rigging Manager of any shortages of equipment / consumables for forthcoming jobs.
  • Support the Rigging Manager with routine maintenance and repair of equipment where needed.
  • Assist with regular truss inspections and accurate recording.
  • Ensure the Company’s quality standards are maintained at all times.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technology within the department.
  • Ensure the LEAN process is adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure the department is kept tidy and orderly at all times.
  • Assist in the undertaking of stock cycle counts with operational departments when scheduled.
  • Report any health and safety issues to the Operations Manager.

 

  • Good understanding of the industry and previous experience within a warehouse environment.
  • Competent in using workshop tools and equipment safely.
  • Good understanding of the Company’s product range and procedures.
  • Previous experience with preparing and testing rigging and control equipment would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of electric chain hoist mains and basic electricity.
  • Ability to learn and retain information in a reasonable time frame.
  • Conscientious with a good eye for detail.
