Overview






If you are an experienced professional from the construction sector looking for a change of career, then our Auditor position could be a step in the right direction. Element is a leading company in the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector with opportunities to provide quality compliance assessments to our customers.

 

This role sits within our BM TRADA business unit, specifically providing certification services to the construction industry within the passive fire, PAS24 security, timber construction and welding sectors. We would be willing to consider individuals with transferable skills from the construction sector as a whole or from quality assurance professionals who are open to learning the construction products sector. As you will be conducting remote and onsite audits, there will be travel within the role. The aim is to limit excessive travel and maintain a positive work/life balance. To support you to stay on top of your workload and planning, we also provide our Auditors with an admin and technical day each week!

Responsibilities






  • Undertake audit activities at client’s premises (occasional overnight stays may be required) 
  • Ensure the audit schedules for defined clients are delivered to plan and in line with target 
  • Achieve planned personal utilisation levels in line with annual defined targets and objectives
  • Produce accurate and timely client reporting which will require a high level of detail
  • Maintain professional status and CPD requirements in accordance with accreditation and business requirements and to develop new audit and product skills as required and requested
  • Manage your portfolio of clients, building relationships with the ability to converse at all levels 
  • Maintain regular reporting with the client to ensuring their certification requirements are met and advise of any additional opportunities








Skills / Qualifications






  • Industrial experience in either steel, aluminium, timber, construction or a related sector 
  • Auditing experience preferred, however full training will be provided 
  • Preference would be given to candidates with OHSAS Lead Auditor course completion or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of industry schemes, for example BS EN1090 or recognised timber standards
  • Good IT skills and able to use MS Office products
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and oral
  • Confident, outgoing and diplomatic, yet firm as necessary along with strong influencing skills
  • Capable to take ownership of clients and manage issues to a successful conclusion
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure, positive and effective team player
  • Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays – possibility of overseas work in longer term
