This position is responsible for ensuring the Company is FSSC22000 certified and complies with all relevant company policies, industry standards and government legislation relating to food safety.  This position is also responsible for the Management of Quality and the lab. 
 
This person is also the representative for Environmental Management.
 
The role must also drive continuous improvement in these areas through monitoring and auditing of compliance to the agreed standards.


Minimum requirements:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in establishing and implementing a GFSI system.
  • As the Food Safety Manager, achieved a GFSI certification
  • Outstanding Internal auditing skills on FSSC22000(or any other GFSI System).
Internal auditing experience on ISO14001 will be to the applicant’s advantage.

Role and responsibilities:
  • Conduct high standard internal audits against the: FSSC22000 standard, IP Handling and Environmental audits. Report writing and effective corrective action. Feedback to management
  • External audits by customers and certification bodies are successful to achieve certification and supplier approval.
  • Management of the Lab, ensure 100% efficiency of lab equipment, monitoring of quality, record keeping, statistics etc.
  • Daily reporting on product conformance.
  • Sample Analysis at External and Internal labs and the interpretation of results
  • Liaise with customers on Complaints, do root cause analysis, identify Corrective and Preventive actions, follow up on effectiveness and draw up graphs
  • Training on FSSC22000 and Environmental Management
  • Communication: Meetings and info sessions
  • Document and Record Control
  • Compile Business Review paper and other reports for evaluation by senior management
Reports to:
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager for Food Safety and Environmental Management (dotted line to System Compliance Manager for corporate governance) and direct reporting to System Compliance Manager on Quality (dotted line to the General Manager).
