Working hours: Monday - Friday 6.30am - 3pm with occasional Saturdays and Bank Holidays.

The Waste and Recycling Team, working with our service partner Serco from our two operational depots in Sudbury and Stowmarket, run 26 frontline collection rounds every day, providing our residents and businesses with a range of waste and recycling services; making over 5 million collections in a year and handling and transporting over 65,000 tonnes of waste and recycling.

As a Refuse and Recycling Loader in our Stowmarket team, you will provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Stowmarket. With a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse Collection staff, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve.

You will be entrusted to:

  • set off on a pre-planned route with the driver you are working with collecting waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties
  • be the public face of Serco’s Environmental Services team in the community
  • keep the community beautiful, safe and a clean place to live and work, a responsibility we take great pride in.
