What’s the job
The Embroidery Machinist is a key role in Supply Chain Production. You will work with the team at our Embroidery department working on multi-head sewing machines to ensure School badges are embroidered onto items of clothing as per our customer requirements.

What do my daily tasks look like

  • While the Machine is in operation, Operator needs to be actively planning and preparing upcoming duties to make sure transition between orders is smooth.

  • Framing and positioning on the product must be exactly as per Customer specification. If standard placement, follow by Specification.

  • Machine Operator takes full responsibility for positioning on product, keeping the design neat and tidy. Avoiding any jump-stitches, gaps, additionally colours matching the design sheet.

  • Machine Operator oversees maintenance of the Machine, schedule the plan fairly with other operators of the same station. In case of any disruption reports to Team Leader and Management about issue, before head is turned off.

  • Ensure mistakes are only created by machine issues, avoid/prevent any mistakes created by user error- i.e. Forgotten badge rotation, pulling the threads etc.

  • Ensuring the deadlines being met, in case of long stitch count, urgent order or backlog in packing, Machine Operator is supporting Packers by removing backings & packing. This only applies when machine is running.

  • During cross-over between shifts, Machine Operator pass on all information about current order, dedicates/ advise next tasks, review the Machine operation during the shift, clean up if needed.

In addition, your additional tasks will be

  • Placing boxes on pallet, not leaving parcels on the floor.

  • Report any shortages of threads/ carton boxes/ bags or any other embroidery/packing tools.

  • Ensure high quality of the design and product.

  • Consistently ensure the embellishment is neat and tidy.

  • Stay clear and focused on all Health and Safety regulations and adhere to them fully.

What are my hours and working days

We are looking to fill our night shift, which is a 40 hour per week contract, starting on Sunday at 9.30pm until 6am Friday.

We are currently a team of 18 machinists and are rapidly expanding.
