We believe that our strength is not just in our steel but the diversity of our workforce. Our people make the difference.

Help Deliver One of the UK’s Largest Industrial Transformations

We are currently delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious industrial transitions – Project Invictus – a £1.25 billion transformation of our steelmaking operations through the construction of a new electric arc furnace (EAF) at our Port Talbot site. To ensure the smooth flow of materials, equipment, and people across this complex site, we are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead logistics strategy and site-wide delivery coordination.

This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to shape the way we execute and control movement across one of the largest construction projects in the country.

What you will do

As the Logistics Manager, you’ll develop and oversee the entire logistics plan for Project Invictus – from early strategy through to on-site execution and support. You’ll be part of the team responsible for coordinating all site logistics, including vehicle movements, contractor access, laydown areas, and lifting operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing the logistics strategy, plan and resourcing for the EAF project
  • Supporting the logistics team and the safe delivery of construction work packages
  • Coordinating across contractors, internal departments and transport/logistics providers
  • Monitoring site safety, traffic flow, laydown area use and storage management
  • Ensuring alignment with construction planning and scheduling
  • Supporting the development of logistics KPIs and reporting tools
  • Interfacing with procurement, delivery, warehousing, and compliance functions

You’ll report into the Project Manager and will be part of a leadership team responsible for ensuring on-time, efficient and safe delivery of materials and services to site.

What you will need

We’re looking for a logistics leader with excellent organisational and people management skills. You should have experience managing logistics on major projects, ideally within construction, infrastructure or heavy industrial environments.

You’ll need:

  • Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management in a complex project setting
  • Experience in leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
  • A strong understanding of site safety, permit to work systems, and CDM regulations
  • Confidence engaging with contractors, suppliers and senior stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to turn plans into execution

Experience with major capital programmes, large-scale construction, or decarbonisation initiatives would be a significant advantage.
