Ashtead Technology are on the hunt for a Logistics Manager to support & elevate our Mechanical Solutions service line. In this vital role, you will lead a dedicated team across our Thainstone and Turriff facilities, driving operational excellence and ensuring seamless logistics management.


Day to day you’ll be involved in:


  • Strategic & Operational Leadership – You will own the logistics strategy for the Mechanical Solutions service line, ensuring alignment with commercial and operational needs & lead the planning for complex, high-value & urgent global shipments, including mobilisation/ demobilisation cycles.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement – You will own key relationships with freight forwarders, transport firms, and customs brokers, working with Procurement to review rates and SLAs; participating in logistics category reviews
  • System & Process Integration - You will represent logistics in system design/deployment activities, ensuring all workflows, master data, and reporting mechanisms are correctly configured. You will drive the use of logistics data and KPIs to improve visibility and performance.
  • Compliance & Documentation – You will ensure adherence to international trade regulations, oversee all documentation standards for shipments and lead internal audits, ensuring readiness for 3rd party audits.

 

What experience you’ll bring:


The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a proven track record in global logistics management, hold exceptional communication skills, and have  a passion for driving efficiencies and fostering collaboration across teams.


What will also help you in this role?


  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs compliance.
  • Experience in managing or mentoring distributed logistics teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS platforms.
  • Experience in handling / producing transit documentation.
