Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Packer to join our team here at Wheatley Plastics. The successful candidate will be responsible for packing products and ensuring they are ready for shipment. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members to ensure that all products are packed according to company standards and delivered to customers on time.
Responsibilities:
- Pack products according to company standards and customer requirements
- Ensure that all products are properly labelled and identified
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Assist with inventory management and stock control
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all orders are fulfilled on time
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Manual assembly operations and inspect finished products in accordance with the packing spec.
- Use of hand tools when required.
- Undertake training when required.
- Notify shift technician if the products differs from the criteria sheet specifications.
- Report equipment downtime and damages.
- The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the company.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a packing or warehouse environment preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to carry out manual handling activities
- Basic IT skills are essential
- Good level of Maths and English
Safety
- To actively report all Accidents, Dangerous Occurrence or Near Misses that may occur on your shift and report directly to your Supervisor or Team Leader on shift with immediate effect.
- Support all company safety initiatives, programs of safety improvement and proactive support Hazard awareness and the management of behaviour-based safety programs.
- Ensuring the Company’s facilities and equipment are maintained and operated in a safe, clean & efficient manner at all times.
- Always wear appropriate safety protection equipment and ensure compliance with Health and Safety policy and procedures.
- Maintain one’s own work area to established housekeeping standards.
- Wear always, provided uniform and Safety Shoes.
- Inspect machinery/equipment before use to identify if any replacements, malfunctions and repairs are required. Report any issues to your shift Team Leader PTL’s
