Job Title: Port Sunlight Factory and UK HC SC Finance Manager

Purpose of the role:
This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of Unilever’s Europe Home Care business. We have a clear strategy called "Bring it Home!" that drives our vision to become “the most admired home care company”. The role sits at the epicenter of the Business Unit Finance team partnering the largest market on supply chain cost, operations and transformation.

Main Responsibilities

Business Partnering and Performance Management
o Partner and influence site leadership team to deliver best-in-class productivity.
o Drive country P&L with insights and interventions on supply chain costs.
o Highlight key hotspots requiring joint supply chain and markets efforts in order to drive costs/service optimization (e.g. SKU complexity reduction)
o Be the custodian of monthly performance management rhythm for factory production costs; actuals, forecast, managing risks/opportunities and gap closing actions.
o Lead Master Plan for production costs.
o Drive the waste reduction agenda (Zero Based Material Waste, Business Waste) aligned with category strategy/plan.
o Custodian of production CAPEX and investment appraisals.
Change Programs / Transformation
o Ensure on-time and in full delivery of in-flight Change Programs.
o Scope future transformation agenda in line with business needs.
o Drive long terms factory digital masterplans and run-to-standard initiatives
Stewardship
o Ensure effective implementation of relevant Financial controls including Fixed Assets, Inventory and IFRS compliance.
o Drive financial control stewardship resulting in zero control deficiencies.
People Development
o Manage and develop team of Finance resources.
o Continuously energize and motivate the individuals to become a highly effective finance team
Knowledge and Skills Required
o Strong business acumen, has a natural passion for operations design and business results. Is biased towards actions that have the most tangible and significant impact to the business.
o High level of flexibility to see the big picture but at the same time courage to deep-dive into specific areas if need arises
o A solid understanding of accounting, controls and FP&A
o Strong problem-solving skills, analytical ability, strategic and critical thinking with focus on insights and story telling,
o Ability to present effectively to senior leaders in the organization and to flex the communication style depending on the audience.
o Ability to work remotely with numerous stakeholders and to develop with them collaborative relationships.
o Genuine passion to develop people through mentoring and coaching.
Experience Required
o 8-10 years’ experience, experience in SC finance roles highly desirable.

Recruitment Fraud 

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate. 

 

How is Unilever tackling this? 

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
