Role:    Directs activity of line and acts as expert for builds, safety, quality, and testing issues. Engages in direct problem solving to mitigate production flow constraints through direct intervention or escalation to relevant persons and/or department.

Education:   

  1. GSCE/NVQ or equivalent
  2. 1 year of manufacturing experience, 3-5 years preferred.

 

Experience:  At least one year of product knowledge at Starline preferred.  Must have performed duties of Assembler 2 minimum with preference to being at Assembler 3 status.

 

Main Job Duties:

  1. Promote and lead of all aspects of health, safety and risk management within their area, hold or achieve IOSH managing safety certificate.
  2. Coordinate the flow of production within the department, as needed.
  3. Maintains and completes hour-by-hour data, identifies root cause/corrective actions to address production problems to achieve production throughput goals.
  4. Responsible for proper utilization of eFlex and other company software in support of production.  
  5. Actively participates in Tier 3 meetings and helps provide solutions to issues inclusive QRI1 & QRI 2.
  6. Provides performance feedback of the line members to the Team Supervisors/Production Manager ongoing and as part of the formal annual performance review cycle.
  7. Identifies issues with standards, work instructions and drawings and notifies appropriate personnel to affect resolution.
  8. Responsible for 6S compliance and execution in the cell
  9. Direct the work of others on the production line, redirecting and assisting their line (and other lines as necessary).
  10. Assures line is “wet” and correctly set up for the next shift, including tools available, area is cleaned up and materials are staged to optimized workflow.
  11. Be available to the company for surge periods of production to enable deadline completions are achieved
  12. Manages the holiday/absence reporting for line staff ensuring adherence to company policies

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  1. Perform all responsibility of the Assembler 3.
  2. Acts as the “expert” for production building, quality, and testing within the cell.
  3. Facilitate the training of new associates on the line inclusive of direct instruction/tutoring.
  4. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and wiring diagrams giving clarity and direction to assemblers.
  5. Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.
  6. Proficient product knowledge.
  7. Proficient in inspecting, testing and adjusting completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerance and customer order requirements.

Qualifications
