We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Manager to lead, direct, and manage our operational logistics team. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of health & safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency across our logistics functions.
Health & Safety
- Champion a culture of safety in line with Heidelberg Materials’ Health and Safety Plan
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety
Environmental
- Ensure operations align with our Environmental Management Plan
- Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability
Compliance
- Guarantee adherence to all statutory legislation and internal company regulations
Operational Excellence
- Achieve optimal production levels at the lowest operational cost
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
Logistics & Distribution
- Collaborate with logistics teams to deliver high customer service levels efficiently
Quality Assurance
- Partner with technical teams to maintain top-tier product quality
- Lead quality control for rail, transport, and stockpiles
- Investigate and resolve quality complaints through Root Cause Analysis
Business Analysis
- Work with the Area Operations Manager to ensure accurate and actionable logistics data
- Support profit-enhancing initiatives through data-driven decision-making
Resource Planning
- Ensure teams are well-resourced, trained, and equipped to meet business goals
Team Leadership
- Provide clear direction and foster a culture of development and accountability
Operational Control
- Implement robust controls across safety, environmental, capital expenditure, and revenue
Collaboration
- Foster a “One Team” culture by working closely with all departments
Education/Qualification
- Higher level either vocational or educational
- Minimum 5 years relevant operational experience
- NVQ Level 4 in SHE quarry operations
