Machine Operator – £15.31ph – Isleham – 5 days out of 7

We’re hiring a Machine Operator to join a high-performing food production team. You'll be responsible for the efficient running of optical grading machinery, ensuring product quality, maximising yield, and supporting the wider operational goals of the wash department. Job Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor high-spec optical grading machinery (Celox or similar) to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct pre-start checks at the beginning of each shift and escalate issues where needed
- Track and minimise product waste, ensuring only high-quality output moves forward to packing
- Maintain cleanliness of machinery and surrounding work area according to set cleaning SOPs
- Support training of new team members and ensure accurate completion of training records
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Identify and report machinery issues early to reduce downtime
- Support asset care tasks and preventative maintenance activities
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety guidelines
- Assist with internal and external audit readiness by adhering to hygiene and quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and support shift coordinators as needed
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience operating optical graders, ideally Celox or similar systems
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Sound numeracy and literacy
- Ability to follow SOPs and safety standards precisely
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in food production or FMCG environment beneficial
Pay and Benefits
- £15.31 per hour
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- 5 shifts per week across 7-day rota (day shifts only)
