Punch Machine Operator

Location: Buntingford
Pay: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour depending on experience
Overtime: £22.50 - £25.50 per hour
Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, plus overtime available
Contract: Temp to Perm

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Punch Machine Operator to join a busy and established sheet metal manufacturing company in Buntingford. This is a temp to perm opportunity offering the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period. The role offers regular overtime, competitive rates of pay, and the opportunity to become part of a supportive and growing team.

Applicants with experience as a CNC Operator, Sheet Metal Worker, Press Operator, Machine Operator, Production Operative, Fabrication Operative, Metalworker, Manufacturing Operative, or Engineering Operative may also have transferable skills suitable for this position.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate punch machines safely and efficiently
• Read and work from engineering drawings and job specifications
• Load and unload sheet metal materials
• Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments when required
• Carry out quality checks on finished components
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
• Assist with general manufacturing and production duties when required

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience operating a punch machine is essential
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Experience within sheet metal manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, or metal production environments
• Reliable and motivated with a positive attitude
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
