Warehouse Operative & Van Driver
CDS Print ServicesAbout the Role
We are looking for a reliable, organised and practical person to join our team at our Aylesbury production facility.
The role involves picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch, helping to keep the warehouse running smoothly and ensuring deliveries are ready on time. There will also be opportunities to drive the company van to deliver goods to customers and other locations when required.
An important part of the role will be providing cover for our current driver during annual leave, helping to ensure deliveries continue to run smoothly while they are away. This will involve following delivery schedules, handling goods carefully and representing the company professionally when making deliveries.
Previous warehouse or driving experience would be helpful, but is not essential for every aspect of the role, as training will be provided. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is willing to learn, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and on time.
• Check orders and paperwork to ensure the correct goods are ready for dispatch.
• Prepare delivery notes and other relevant dispatch documents.
• Load and unload goods safely, taking care to prevent damage.
• Drive the company van to make deliveries and collections when required.
• Provide cover for the existing driver during annual leave, carrying out scheduled deliveries to help maintain the normal delivery service.
• Plan and follow delivery routes and schedules, ensuring goods reach the correct destinations on time.
• Ensure goods are handled safely and delivered in good condition.
• Communicate politely and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Keep the warehouse and work areas clean, tidy and organised.
• Follow company health and safety procedures, with training and guidance provided.
• Report any problems with orders, deliveries, stock or equipment to your manager.
• Work with colleagues across the business to help meet customer needs.
• Be willing to learn new tasks and provide support to the wider team when needed.
About You
You will be someone who is dependable, practical and keen to get the job done well. You should be comfortable working on your own when needed, as well as working alongside other team members.
We are looking for someone who has:
• Good attention to detail when picking, packing and checking orders.
• A reliable and organised approach to work.
• Good communication skills and a helpful attitude.
• The ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• A willingness to learn new systems and procedures.
• A careful and responsible approach to driving and handling goods.
• The flexibility to help with different tasks across the warehouse and dispatch operation.
• A professional and friendly manner when dealing with customers.
Experience is not essential. Previous warehouse, production, manufacturing or delivery experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person.
Driving Requirements
A valid UK driving licence is required for the driving element of this role.
Driving duties will form part of the wider warehouse position and will include making deliveries and collections using the company van when needed. The role will also involve providing planned cover for our current driver during their annual leave, helping to ensure customers continue to receive their orders as expected.
You will need to be comfortable driving a company vehicle, following delivery schedules, checking delivery paperwork and handling goods safely. You may also need to load and unload the van and communicate with customers when making deliveries.
The driving element will vary depending on business needs, with time also spent carrying out warehouse and dispatch duties.
A Bendi forklift licence would be beneficial, but is not essential. Training may be available for the right candidate.
What We Offer
• Full training on our warehouse, dispatch and internal systems.
• Support from an experienced team.
• The opportunity to learn new skills and develop within the role.
• A varied position combining warehouse work with driving responsibilities.
